September 2025 Rural Mobile Clinic Event a Success!
Thanks to the help of our amazing donors (that’s you!), Konbit was able to provide the funding & supplies necessary for four different mobile clinics in the month of September. The clinics were held in the Meniac, Piste, Bohama, & Bodme areas.
During and after the time of the event, spanning from September 13-17, we received updates from both Dr. Myrtil & Jean – two men who have been absolutely indispensable to the Konbit program.
Here’s what Dr. Myrtil had to say: “We are very happy to say a big thank you to all of you for the successful mobile clinics. The communities we visited were so happy to see us. We had four mobile clinics where we received more than 400 patients. We saw skin infections, flu, hypertension, parasites, 1 breast tumor, 1 epilepsy, 2 heart insufficiencies, gastritis, diabetes, asthma, and malnutrition.”
“We had more people on the team this time – Miss Thelice, four nurses, the administrator of the state clinic, four doctors, and all of the ajan sante. One clinic we didn’t leave until 8PM because we had a lot of people there. For the vaccination campaign, 310 vaccines were administered to kids and pregnant women.”
Jean’s report echoed how successful this event was — “For the four mobile clinics, we managed to see around 470 people. Everyone is satisfied. This is a great activity to start the school year. On the ground we have made a lot of effort to carry out the mobile clinics with great technique.”
“When we were preparing the clinics we asked people in each area what the most common illnesses were. We heard: itchiness, cough, fever, flu, high blood pressure, headaches, diabetes, infections, and severe pain. After our consultation, the doctors identify the patient’s illness and diagnosis. After that, the doctor’s send the patients to the pharmacy that we have ready.”
“There were many women, many men, and many children. It was a great activity for the population. Everyone was satisfied,” said Jean.
It is because of our donors that this was able to happen. We could not be more thankful to you for your support in our mission to elevate the level of primary healthcare in Haiti. Because of your donations, four different Haitian communities were drastically impacted – that is no small accomplishment.
From all of us at Konbit, mèsi! (thank you!)
