April 2026 Ajan Sante Report

A message from Jean, one of Konbit’s community health care workers —

Hello to the team and your community. I hope you are all well. For us, we are not too bad.

Rain fell in the country throughout the month of April. Despite the weather, we continued a number of our activities. We held community meetings and made home visits to distribute albendazole (anti-parasite medication) and vitamin A. In some schools we held screenings for children from the ages of 6 months to just under 5 years. We continue to distribute the resources we have such as condoms, soap, hydration serum, Paracetamol (Acetaminophen), and Quinoderm (topical medication for the skin).

There has been a lot of difficulty in reaching some areas due to the heavy rain we’ve been having. While the places hit the hardest are out in the country, there are many places in the city center that are also full of muddy water.

The people we see continue to ask for a water system. It’s mainly the homeless who are hungry for water.* This month we were able to see 371 children and 218 adults.

*The Konbit Board continues to look into avenues to assist with this. We strive to assist in giving the community what they need, not what we think they need. Feedback like this from community members is invaluable.
