February 2026 Ajan Sante Report

During the month of February, Konbit’s Ajan Sante continued to demonstrate their unwavering commitment to making healthcare accessible in their local communities.

Throughout the month they traveled to multiple areas and provided nutrition screening and vaccines. At the nutrition screenings they take children’s heights, weights, and brachial perimeter to determine if any given child is malnourished. After these measurements are gathered, our Ajan Sante then give the children Albendazole and Vitamin A.

Dr. Kathryn McAleese, one of Konbit’s board members, explained to the rest of the board that the co-administration of Albendazole and Vitamin A appears to improve the efficacy of Albendazole (a worm medication). This is especially important in malnutrition cases because it decreases re-infection rates and thus improves a child’s nutritional status. This co-administration method is recommended by both WHO and UNICEF.

Due to the generosity of donors like you, our Ajan Sante were also able to purchase the following supplies: 10 boxes of soap, 20 boxes of condoms, 5 boxes of serum (electrolyte serum for dehydration – especially in infants), 15 boxes of paracetamol (acetaminophen), 3 boxes of quinoderm (topical medication for the skin), and 10 boxes of Clorox.

Thank you for your continued support of this meaningful work. Your donations make a huge impact by funding efforts that are making sustainable and positive change in these Haitian communities. Access to basic healthcare like that provided by our Ajan Sante makes it so people can not only survive, but succeed and grow.
